Safety Net Response Network

Supporting States with SNAP and Medicaid Implementation

The Safety Net Response Network is a group of nonprofits currently supporting state governments implementing new changes to Medicaid and SNAP due the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). We partner and deliver directly with states, while coordinating across state and organizational lines, in service of prioritizing high-need Americans who could face challenges accessing Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

Our network partners provide direct technical assistance and publish resources to support states in implementing changes to SNAP and Medicaid originating from OBBBA, especially with newly expanded work requirements and SNAP error rate cost share, which could cost millions of people in America health coverage and state budgets billions of dollars.
